In Memoriam: Bob Wiest
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Bob Wiest, Graphtech’s longest tenured employee. Bob spent 33 years working at Graphtech, joining the company in 1985 as its third employee, and helping us grow into the business we are today. Bob was a pressman by trade, but he was always willing to help out wherever needed. There probably isn’t a job at Graphtech that Bob didn’t do at one point or another! He will be missed.
Leads Over Lunch
Graphtech recently hosted Leads Over Lunch, a networking event in conjunction with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania. Nearly 70 chamber members attended the event to learn, network, and of course, chow down on a lunch that included endless amounts of Girl Scout cookies. Thanks to all who attended and made this event a success!
For The Kids
Graphtech conducted a year-long Mini-THON® to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund. Several fundraising activities were held throughout 2017, including “Souper Bowl”, Gourmet Grilled Cheese Day, and a Thanksgiving Dinner where employees made a donation in order to eat. The Graphtech Activities Committee also coordinated a company-wide yard sale, an Arooga’s fundraiser and a holiday decorating contest, all of which raised proceeds for our Mini-THON. Also, collection cans were placed throughout the Graphtech office – the can that brought in the most was strategically placed by the vending machines.
On Thursday, January 11, Graphtech employees Kristi Wasson, Staci Whittington and Dani Stillo were proud to present Four Diamonds with a check for $1850. The Graphtech Mini-THON will continue until our $2500 goal is reached.
